21 Days of Praying for the Church

DAY 19

United as One Church

Pause & Reflect

Still considering unity, shift the conversation from church leadership to the whole church community. Today more than ever, you have to ask the question, what is your church known for in your community? If your church were to be gone tomorrow, would you be missed?

Jesus described the church as a force of good when He said the gates of hell would not prevail against it. The church is one body made up of many parts. What a unique position the church has today. It can come together with different backgrounds and skills and be people united by Jesus for a greater good. Today, your prayer matters for the whole church—to be united as one, so that your community would know the love of Jesus and have His presence felt.

Speak a prayer today that God will grant your church complete unity and peace so that the community you live in will believe in Jesus and know His love.

JOHN 17:23
I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

MATTHEW 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-14
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
